As with all books in the Made Easy Series, chords are shown in full diagram form, showing you where to put your fingers, which strings are open, and which strings aren't played.Strum marks are also included to let you know how many times to strum each chord.Only the melody line appears together with the lyrics, so you can't really play these songs on the piano- -unless you know your piano chords real well.
Some of the songs in this collection are a lot easier to play, learn, and sing than others, perhaps because their melodic structure is more linear, or whatever the musical term is.More difficult pieces include Doolin' Dalton, Hotel California, and Heartache Tonight.Beginning guitarists may not be able to play every song in this book, at least not right away, but the book puts many old favorites within their reach.

I purchased this book without really knowing which music was included, but I definitely wanted the Sense & Sensibility pieces.I really enjoy all of them, especially the pieces from Persuasion.Funny, but that soundtrack never stood out to me when I watched this film. I really wouldn't have thought those pieces would be my favorite. Italian Aria, though, is gorgeous and, though simple, even my 11 year old son came over to the piano when I was playing and exclaimed how pretty the music was!The pieces range from cheerful and upbeat to haunting and sad.Additionally, some sound as if they were written during the baroque period, and some sound as if they were written during the Romantic period. A real variety of music is presented here.

I am thoroughly enjoying this book. The transcriptions are really for beginners to intermediate level players.The easier pieces, though, are not "EASY PIANO". It's just easier because the tempo is simple and there are only a couple of sharps or flats at one time.There is nothing too difficult here, but they still sound wonderful.

The Piano [Paperback] Review

This buy was MOST definitly worth the purcahse. I'm obviously a huge fan of Nyman's but i was blown away by the notes he writes on page. THE PIANO sheet music only contains 6 songs, and two of them i have already commited to memory, and its only been 2 weeks. In fact, all of the songs except DEEPSLEEP PLAYING are on the soundtrack. The sheet music seems to have about 10measures not contained on the soundtrack somewhere, but all of the mainthemes in the sheet music are on the soundtrack. Learn THE HEART ASKSPLEASURE FIRST, i have never had so many compliments playing song beforeuntil i learned this one. It's worth it.

Ultimate Easy Guitar Collection [Paperback] Review

I actually own this book. I am a beginner, and was looking for a book of more engaging songs that the usual campfire fare, that I could actually play. The selection in this collection is pretty good. A number of themseem to have chords that are rather difficult to play (at least for me). But there are also some that are quite approachable for a beginner. Also, if you substitute easier-to-finger chords for some of the more exotic variations listed, you can still play.The chord boxes are shown right above the musical staff, which is also very helpful for a beginner.
My only complaint is that there is no Tablature. I would have loved to try out the riffs in some very familiar songs, but I don't read music.

Yamaha Folding Sheet Music Stand with Carry Bag, Black Review

I couldn't believe the quality of this music stand when I set it up for the first time. I saw flimsy ones in a local music store that sell for $30 and above. I went ahead with this one because I trust the quality of Yamaha products and I can gladly say I'm not disappointed. It looks really good and sturdy standing in my living room and is very easy to be folded up and put back into the carrying bag if need to. I've only had a couple of years of piano lessons (and that was years ago) and I bought this book to help me get back into playing.The arrangements are easy (but no, not beginner), and don't take much practise before you're sounding pretty good! Includes the guitar chords.

The songs are:

The book itself is a slim softcover book with a shiny cover. It is bound by three staples, and the pages fall flat once pressed down - so its fine on a music/piano stand.

Note - This describes the the 2003 edition which I was sent initially (in error). So check that you were sent the right edition! The 2004 edition is bound, so doesn't lie flat as well as the 1st Ed but it includes a 13th song: "Fix You" from "X&Y"

I am an adult beginner and I'm teaching myself.This book has fun and easy arrangements to songs that you may already know the melody to.It's good for the adult beginner that is ready for their second book after getting down the basics. You should know how to read the notes (at least figure them out) in the bass and treble clef. It's much better that playing kiddie songs.
