Chuck Loeb is one of the top smooth jazz guitar masters. His records are nice, easy to listen, yet full of amazing jazz guitar riffs.
You will find many of those riffs transcribed in the book.
The selected songs are all good, but still too few! Chuck has many more master pieces.. :)

There are very few smooth jazz guitar books on the market. This is probably the best.

Timbafunk [Paperback] Review

let me start by saying i just got this book yesterday.Ive gotta say if you play drums or percussion and intrested in afro-cuban rythms you need this book.I would say its a great companion book to afro-cuban rythms for drumset.I would recomend getting familiar with those basic rythms first.This book is jam packed with interesting and creative beats plus a wealth of historic information.I also like the fact that theres a lot of beats with multiple cowbell parts.I lookforward to playing all this stuff and incorperating it into my playing.most definately one of the top ten drum books of all time i really hope these guys put out another book in the future.

Primary Handbook for Mallets [Paperback] Review

This primer on mallet-playing instruments such as the xylophone and marimba is perhaps the best of all the how-to-play mallet method books.

It contains illustrations of mallet holding, and a detailed explanation of the keys and treble cleft scale. It also contains excellent practice pieces and compositions and sections where students can practice creating compositions.

A CD comes with the book that plays every lesson in the book so you know how the practice session or piece should sound.

It is rare to find schools for mallet-playing if you don't want take college courses and you are way too old to be in elementary school band. This book does a great job of taking the place of a live instructor and teaches you how to be an pretty good musician.
